📢 Update: Utah Approves Bell-to-Bell Cell Phone Policy for Schools

This week, the Utah Legislature approved Senate Bill 69, establishing bell-to-bell limits on student cellphone use in public schools statewide. The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk and is expected to be signed into law.

At American Preparatory Academy, this approach may sound familiar.

In 2023, APA launched our Minimize Tech / Maximize Happiness initiative after reviewing research on student attention, well-being, and learning. Since then, our campuses have operated with distraction-minimized, bell-to-bell learning environments designed to help students stay focused, build strong friendships, and fully engage in school life.

We are encouraged to see growing statewide support for policies that prioritize student focus and healthy learning environments.
